GETTING HERE

Whether you come by plane, car, railroad, taxi or other transportation, to get to the Grove Hotel in Cherry Grove, the last leg of your journey is the Sayville Ferry (in Sayville, NY) who provides the ferry service across the Great South Bay to Cherry Grove. Part of the island charm is the car-free environment so you will discard your vehicle at the ferry terminal.

By Water
No matter how you made your way to Sayville, we recommend taking one of the scheduled ferries directly to Cherry Grove, though private boats are allowed to dock in the marinas of many Fire Island communities. Horizontal service is available on the island via water taxi.

By Air

The closest airport to Cherry Grove is Long Island MacArthur Aiport (ISP) located in the town of Islip. Taxi/Van/Car Service is available from ISP to the Sayville Ferry terminal. The closest major airports are John F. Kennedy International Airport or LaGuardia Airport. Both require making your way to the Sayville ferry either by train or car.

By Train

Please check here for the latest train schedules from Penn Station. Once you arrive at the Sayville stop, there are car services available to take you to the ferry dock.

By Car

Fire Island is roughly 50 miles from downtown Manhattan, depending on which ferry you take – we recommend the Sayville Ferry. In the summer traffic can get congested so it’s best to give yourself plenty of extra time to complete the drive. Paid parking is available at the ferry terminals.
